She is most famous for her role as the attorney Kim Wexler on AMC's Better Call Saul (2015-2018), for which she was given the Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series, Miniseries, or Television Film. She also appeared on NBC's Whitney (2011–2013) as well as ABC's I'm with Her 2003-2004, and TNT's Franklin & Bash 2011-2014. Deborah Rhea Seehorn, a Norfolk native, was born May 12 in 1972. Her mother was an executive assistant to the United States Navy, while her father was an agent in the Naval Investigative Service; her family moved frequently during her youth, living in Washington, D.C. and Arizona, as well as in Japan. She followed in the footsteps of her grandmother and father by learning about architecture, painting and drawing from a young age. She continued pursuing the art of drawing, but also developed an increased interest in acting and was introduced into contemporary theater during her college. She earned her degree from George Mason University in 1994 with a bachelor's degree in Studio Art. Seehorn began her career in college as an actor, and was inspired by her acting professor. She held a variety of ancillary roles within the industry of theater in D.C. to try to make her stand out. She managed to land certain parts in local theatre productions. However, she still was forced to do odd jobs to pay the bills. To pay for her expenses she was also able to take on parts in short industrial instructional films. Then she started to get roles in more television productions usually in roles she described as "very humorous, sarcastic, and knowing women", similar to her idol Bea Arthur. However, most of the roles she played were part-time shows that were cancelled after just one or two seasons. Seehorn was selected to play Kim Wexler on the Breaking Bad prequel series Better Call Saul in May 2014. Seehorn portrays Kim Wexler (a lawyer) and is the love-interest for the Jimmy McGill character.
