Zachary Galifianakis

Zachary Knight Galifianakis Greek pronunciation born on October 1st 1969) is an American comedian, actor, musician, and writer. He has also appeared on Comedy Central Presents and hosted Late World With Zach on VH1. Galifianakis has appeared as a lead in many films which include The Hangover Trilogy (2009-2013), Due Date (2010). The Campaign (2012), Birdman or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance (2014) as well as Masterminds (2016). Galifianakis has also voiced characters in animated films like Puss In Boots (2011) and The Lego Batman Movie (2017). He also voices Missing Link (2019) and Ron's Gone Wrong (2211). Galifianakis is currently host of the comedy show Between Two Ferns, with Zach Galifianakis. He starred in the FX series Baskets and was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series in 2017. Zachary Knight Galifianakis, a North Carolina native, was born October 1 1969 in Wilkesboro. The actor is the son of Mary Frances (nee Cashion), and Harry Galifianakis, a heating oil salesman. His mother is Scottish-Irish and English heritage, while his paternal grandparents are Greek immigrants from Crete. The baptism was performed according to the Greek Orthodox faith of his father. He has Merritt and a younger sister and Greg the older brother. The cousin Nick Galifianakis is a Washington Post cartoonist and his uncle Nick Galifianakis is also a politician. Galifianakis was a student at Wilkes Central High School, and later attended North Carolina State University, where he earned a degree in communications. Galifianakis worked for a public radio station while in college. He taught waltz in 1991 when he got to know Mary J. Blige. Galifianakis was one of the Saturday Night Live host for two weeks after his TV debut in Boston Common. He's stated "I did work for Saturday Night Live for two weeks. Britney Spears was the host during the week I was there. He wrote a sketch. Will Ferrell was going to play a bodyguard to her belly button and we planned reduce Will down to fit into the belly button. After I explained it to them, she looked at me. Then she said, "Yeah that is funny." Galifianakis starred in Out Cold and also had roles in Corky Romano and Below, Bubble Boy and Heartbreakers.
